Krakow: A one-day program on soft image of Pakistan titled; “Pakistan Day†held at Museumin Krakow, the second largest and historical city of Poland, FO said in a statement on Sunday.
The Institute of Middle and Far East of the University of JagiellonskiKrakow hosted the program in collaboration with Embassy of Pakistan in Poland.
The event which held at Museum of Japanese Art and Technolog Krakow, was attended by a number of students of the Jagiellonianuniversity and as well as people from different walks of life.
According to MrShifaatKaleem, the deputy head of mission of Pakistan Embassy in Poland, main purpose of holding the program was to highlight rich and diverse culture of Pakistan and promote soft image of the country.
Director of the Institute of Middle and Far East Dr Renata Czekalskalauded efforts of the Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland, Dr. Khalid Hussain Memon for great support in arranging the event for the second time in Krakow. She expressed hope that the fruitful collaboration between the embassy and the institute will continue in order to hold more events regarding Pakistan in future in Krakow.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Head of Mission ShifaatKaleem highlighted the rich, vibrant and diverse culture of Pakistan and emphasizedupon importance such programs in promotion of Pakistan’s culture and soft image among Polish people special students. He also gave brief account of struggle for Pakistan. A student namely Mr. Marcin also gave presentation on Urdu language and its progress. Mr. Marcin presented a lecture on literary work of ibn Safi. A stall for Pakistani Mehndi was also set up for the female participants of the program as a number of the visitors take interest in it.
Another presentation was on beautiful and colorful Pakistani art work on trucks and other vehicles.The display of “PhoolPati” (flower work) was greatly appreciated by many of the visitors.
Culinary journey through Pakistan showing different Pakistani cuisines was presented by Professor Dr. Kamila Junik-Luniewska of the Institute of Middle and Far East of the JagiellonskiUniversity. Another speaker Dr Agnieszka Kuszewska, the Head of the department of South Asia, Institute of Middle and Far East gave a lecture on cultural diversity of Pakistanas highlighting different regional festivals, languages, traditions. Participants expressed great interest in knowing about Pakistani culture. The event will greatly contribute towards promoting soft image of Pakistan. Deputy Head of Mission MrShifaatKaleem also presented a book on Pakistan to Dr Kamila Junik.
Delicious and traditional Pakistani food was served at lunch to participants of the program.
