Islamabad: (Parliament Times) A meeting of eminent writers, religious scholars, and political activities was held at the residence of Dr. Maqsood Jafri which was presided over by Shah Ghulam Qadir, Speaker Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Pir Ali Raza Bukhari, Member Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest. The participants of the meeting stressed on highlighting the Kashmir issue through print and electronic media and said that International community should be mobilized to pressurize India for holding free and fair plebiscite in Kashmir as per UN resolutions. Shah Ghulam Qadir stressed on the need of launching a systematic and consistent campaign to highlight Kashmir issue before the world. Shah Ghulam Qadir also briefed the participants regarding his latest visit to UAE in which he highlighted atrocities of Indian State and urged the world to take serious notice of Indian brutalities being committed in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Barrister Afzal Hussain suggested that Kashmir Desk should be established in Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affair with focal persons in all Pakistani diplomatic missions abroad to highlight Kashmir issue as a case of the protection of human rights. The Chief Guest Pir Ali Raza Bukhari maintained that Kashmir is the land of Sufis who had been promoting the message of peace and tolerance. The present uprising in Indian Occupied Kashmir is an indigenous movement to achieve liberation from Indian subjugation. He also suggested the promotion and promulgation of Sufism on International platform for a congenial and cordial world culture. Dr. Maqsood Jafri laid emphasis on the need of reaching out the world intelligentsia to mobilize the world opinion in the favor of legal and democratic movement of freedom in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
