QUETTA: (Parliament Times) Balochistan government is taking steps for promotion of fisheries sector so that the province could be self-sufficient in production of white meat.
An official of Provincial Fisheries Department told the media at Quetta on Thursday that a project for construction of a Jetty and fish harbour at Damb area of Lasbela district is being executed at a cost of more than 536 million rupees in this regard.
Another project for construction of a jetty and allied harbour facility is also in progress in Gwadar at cost of more than 299 million rupees.
The official further said eight boat repairing workshops in various districts situated at coastal belt of Balochistan is also in progress which would be completed at a cost of more than 247 million rupees.
