Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations have condemned the killing of eight innocent Kashmiri youth and injuries to hundreds others during the sham Indian parliamentary elections in Srinagar constituency.
The incarcerated Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement while condemning the civilian killings said that the sacrifices of the youth would not go waste.
Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt in his statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the martyrs. A high-level party delegation participated in funerals and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Zafar Akbar Butt, who is under house detention, said that no Kashmiri was safe in presence of seven hundred thousand Indian troops. He also condemned the use of brute force against the people.
The President of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA), Mir Muhammad Iqbal in a statement said that forced democracy was not the solution to Kashmir; rather referendum was the way forward. He said that the resistance struggle would continue till completes success. Hurriyet leader, Firdous Ahmad Shah in a statement also condemned the killing.
The Islamic Political Party in a statement in Srinagar slammed New Delhi and its local collaborators for once again starting the killing spree of youth in the garb of election drama. A party spokesman said on one hand, New Delhi is staging election drama in Kashmir which the people have openly rejected and on other side, bullets and pellets are being showered on youth. “This is extremely shameful on part of India and its puppets,†he added. He also denounced the continued illegal arrest of Mohammad Yousuf Naqash.
The High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) and Kashmir Economic Alliance also denounced the killings.
