TIKRIT: At least 26 people were killed and 40 wounded in overnight attacks carried out by Islamic state militants in the city of Tikrit, foreign media citing Iraqi security sources reported.
Security sources informed media that at least 14 police officers were among the victims of the attacks.
Tikrit was captured by ISIS militants in June 2014. In 2015, the Iraqi Army retook Tirkit from the militants, but ISIS fighters continue to carry out attacks in the city and its outskirts.
