PM, Punjab CM lament Lahore Bedian Road blast, order to submit report
LAHORE : Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep grief over the suicide blast that occurred on Lahoreâ€™s Bedian Road today (Wednesday).
According to details, PM Nawaz has paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan Army.
Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment to the victims. He has also directed Inspector General (IG) Punjab to submit report of the mishap as early as possible.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali also took to Twitter and condemned the attack.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Governor and Chief Minister and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal have also criticized the attack and demanded investigation into the matter.
Earlier today, at least six persons including four army officials were martyred while 15 sustained severe injuries in a suicide blast on Lahoreâ€™s Bedian Road.
The blast occurred in a van which was standing near Manawala chowk.
Police and Rangers personnel arrived at the blast scene and cordoned off the area. Initial investigation suggested that the attacker targeted the census team and was aged between 18-24 years.
