It is generally said and believed that saving money is like earning money. This is what the Punjab Government at the level of the chief executive of the province is not only believing but also
practicing determinedly and committedly and in the process achieving desired objectives of saving the public money which is like a sacred trust in the hands of those empowered and authorized to use it.
Provincial Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on various occasions, as per the reports in the media, quite rightly keeps asserting that his government is utilizing national resources on welfare and well-being of the people in the rural and urban areas of the province honestly and sincerely and saving billions of rupees through right use of the public money in a transparent manner.
Only few days back, the Chief Minister while talking to his party leaders in Lahore is reported to have said that his government had saved as huge as Rs 112 billion in three gas power projects, under implementation in different of the province, through transparency. All this is quite commendable indeed.
It is good to note that the provincial government is not only committed to take all possible measures for the welfare of the people without any discrimination or party affiliation but also ensuring saving the precious public through transparency , efficiency and honest utilization of every single pie in the timely and speedy implementation of development projects.
He also told the party leaders that computerization of land record system is a historical step taken by his government and after completion of rural land record system, computerization of land
record system of urban areas will also be taken in hands.
Quite obviously if the provincial government has saved huge amount of Rs 112 billion in three gas power projects, the money so saved will now be utilized for financing some other public welfare
initiative to which the government stands committed. Saving the public money in this manner and utilizing the saved money on some other welfare project is something quite good and everyone should appreciate that in all fairness,EM Zee Rifat.
