Islamabad: The President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said that love for Pakistan is the part of Kashmiris’ faith.
Addressing an informal meeting of the members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council in Islamabad today, he said Council is working as a bridge between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir governments and people.
The President Masood said that he is fully aware about the problems being faced by the members of AJK Council and assured that he will discuss the matter with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who is Chairman of the Council besides taking the matter up with Federal Minister for finance.
The meeting was attended by Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Sardar Mukhtar Khan Abbasi, Pervaiz Awan, Malik Pervaiz Akhtar, Chaudhry Saddiq Batli, Deputy Secretary Kashmir Council Raja Tariq, Ex-En Khurram Khan, Secretary Presidential Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Zafar Khan, Additional Secretary Shazia Ashraf. The president on the occasion said that decision taken in Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Pakistan was 50 percent cut expenditure was only on non- development expenditure and it has nothing to do with the development funds.  The President said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed in the same meeting for the release of development funds without any slash. He said that elected representatives of the council should be provided development funds. The members of the council called upon the president to take up the issue in his capacity as vice chairman of the council with the chairman (Prime Minister of Pakistan). The president again assured the members that a meeting to be participated by Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Joint Secretary of the council would be convened soon before taking up the matter with Prime Minister of Pakistan.
