Islamabad: (Parliament Times) AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Monday administered oath to the newly elected office bearers of Kashmir Journalists Forum(KJF) here at Kashmir House and
announced grant of Rs.2.5 millions for the welfare of the
Kashmiri journalists based in Rawalpindi Islamabad. He has
urged journalists to play role in highlighting Kashmir issue.
Addressing the oath taking ceremony the AJK prime minister
said that the role of journalist community was of vital
importance for promoting harmony and tolerance in the society,
and strengthening democracy and democratic institutions.
Besides constructive criticism, media had to encourage the
institutions on good deeds, he added.
He said a comprehensive plan should be evolved for other
demands of journalist community and a practicable planning
should be made keeping in view their socio-economic
requirements. He said journalist community had expressed
complete confidence in them and now it was their
responsibility to play a more active role in resolution of
problems of journalist community.
He said Press Foundation would be made more active so it could
better serve for the welfare of the journalists.He said all issues of state newspapers would also be resolved accordingly.
AJK minister for Information Raja Mushtaq Minhas,Zahid
Tabassum president All Kashmir Newspaper Society,Ejaz
Abbasi,Amjad Ch,Nisar Kiani and other also addressed the
function.
Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal,Deputy Director
Amjad Minhas and Assistant Director Khawja Imran were also
present on occasion.
Meanwhile ex candidate for member legislative Assembly in
Somahni constituency Raja Maqsood Ahmed called on prime
minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan here at Kashmir House and
discussed with him the developmental matters of Somanhi and
invited him for the visit to his constituency,prime minister
accepted the invitation and assured him that all developmental issues would be resolved accordingly.
