Pak Sarzameen Party chairman Mustafa Kamal on Saturday said the government is exhausting Pakistan’s front line forces by bringing them on the forefront for any issue the country faces.Addressing the media in Karachi, Kamal said, “Are operations the only solution to all our problems? What if the new operation also fails, which army will the government then bring in?â€â€œWhy was Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad launched when Operation Zarb-e-Azb hadn’t ended? Kamal questioned. “We have committed some mistakes in the past, and we need to fix these problems rather than launching operations,†he added.Further questioning why so many of “Pakistan’s young children are willing to turn into suicide bombersâ€, Kamal asked if killing these children through army-led operations is the only solution the country is left with. The former Karachi mayor also said that the government should take lead on eliminating terrorism from the country, rather than bringing in the army. “Mothers are tired of picking up their son’s bodies,†he said.According to Kamal, terrorism needs to be prevented in Pakistan for which all parties need to work with the government.
In response to the continuing terror wave, Pakistan Army earlier this week, launched ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country. “Operation aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual / latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders,†the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, air force, navy, civil armed forces and other security and law enforcement agencies will jointly participate in efforts to eliminate terror from the country.
