KARACHI : An increase of five percent has been recorded in the sale of old and light commercial cars that were imported in last three years.

In 2013, the ratio of imported used vehicles was 14 percent to the local made cars which increased to 19 percent in 2016.

According to a report given by Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), 46 thousand and five hundred used cars were imported in 2016 whereas local manufacturers produced two lac, three thousand and five hundred cars.

43 thousand and four hundred used cars were imported in 2015 and local industry produced two lac, 47 thousand and five hundred cars including 50 thousand vehicles of Punjab government’s Apna Rozgar Scheme.
