Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) The residents of Cantonment areas, Satellite Town and adjoining areas in Rawalpindi have protested against the suspension of gas supply to their localities for the last few weeks in extreme chilly season in Rawalpindi.
The recent spell of rainfall has turned the weather extremely cold on one hand and on the other hand the gas supply to the residents of Gulistan Colony, Mohalla Mahmoodabad, Tench Bata, Dhamiyal, Bank Colony, other congested and adjoining areas Satellite Town stands suspended for the last few weeks.
The residents while protesting against suspension of gas supply said that their kitchen system has been disrupted due to non availability of gas as no breakfast, lunch or dinner is being prepared and all the inmates of every home have to move to hotels to take meals.
The residents have urged the government to take relevant measures to for restoration of supply of gas to them.
The residents while calling of strike following the negotiations with the relevant authorities warned that if the gas supply is not restored to their areas then they will block the Murree Road.
