Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has criticised the world community for its criminal silence over the state terrorism unleashed by India in Kashmir.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the insensitivity and unconcern shown by the global community was the sole reason for the unabated bloodshed in the territory.
He paid glowing tributes to Muzaffar Ahmad Naikoo alias Muzze Molvi, saying: “Our youth sacrifice their lives for Kashmir cause and are putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honour these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.â€
Gilani said, “The world forums, which stand witness to our dispute, act as mute spectators, thereby legitimising and legalising the brutalities unleashed in the territory for the last 70 years. Had these super powers acted to their tall claims, India could not have dared to continue its repression and peace would have been ensured since long,†he maintained.
He said the people of Kashmir have used every democratic and peaceful means for about 40 years to fight this aggression but India has responded ruthlessly and without giving an ear to the aspirations and just voices, is negating the historical legitimacy of this dispute.
“This arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India has to come to terms with the writing on the wall lest this unresolved and unaddressed volcano can erupt and burst anytime engulfing millions of people in this region,†he added.
Meanwhile, the APHC in s statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemning the sexual assault on a Ladakhi teenager in Jammu. It said that culprits of the shameful act should be exposed and brought to book to ensure the sense of safety amongst womenfolk of the territory.
