FAISALABAD :     On the special initiatives of Deputy Commissioner SalmanGhani, 251 hearing aid devices have been distributed among the hearing impaired special students of Govt. Special Education Institutions in the districts worth Rs. 2.5 million with the financial assistance of local Chenab Club.  A colourful ceremony was held here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium for the distribution of hearing aid devices among the special students.  Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani was the chief guest.  Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Shahid, ACG Mahar Shafqatullah Mushtaq, District Officer Special Education Ch. Abdul Hameed, local philanthropists Shakil Anwar, Shehzad Siddiquue,Zahid Aftaf, Haroon Rafique, Muhammad Ashraf, Hassan Askari and teachers, parents of special students were also present on the occasion.   Addressing the ceremony the DC said that the betterment and welfare of special children was the joint responsibility of the society and we should come forward for the rehabilitation, education and vocational training.  He appreciated the generosity of Chenab Club Executive committee member and said they had donated huge amount for the donation of hearing aid for the hearing impaired students.  He lauded the special efforts of the special education department for screening the students to check their audiological capacity for enabling them to listen through hearing aid devices.  He said that special children would be provided all out resources for keeping them in the main stream of the development through their proper education and training.  Earlier, District Officer Special Education Ch. Abdul Hameed thanked the Deputy Commissioner for arraigning donations for providing hearing aid to the students.  He informed that the hearing impaired special students studying in the different centers of special education were being given hearing aid and now they could listen the voice and expressed their sentiments.  He also highlighted the steps of Punjab govt. for the welfare and education of the special children and said that Rs.800 per month as stipend were being given to the special children in govt. special education centers besides providing them pick and drop facility.  Earlier, special children presented tebblues, national songs and other variety programmes and bagged great applause on their skill and capabilities.  During the functions Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and other philanthropists fitted the hearing aid devices on the ears of hearing impaired special students.
