Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times)  Dispelling the impression that mega development projects being executed in Azad Kashmir are threat to the natural environment, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said forest of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be protected at all cost to preserve the beauty of the area.
Talking to different delegations at Kashmir House Islamabad on Wednesday Prime Minister said reinforcing Kashmir liberation struggle, development of liberated area and providing an efficient and responsible administration to the people are top most priorities of the present government. He said that AJK government is considering taking control of AJK Television and Radio to project Kashmir issue effectively and use the media for promotion of tourism in the area, adding that significant steps are being taken to preserve the sites of ancient and historical heritage.
He said Muzaffarabad’s historical Red Forte would be rehabilitated with construction of a state of the art museum along the forte. He said AJK is an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists and expressed his resolve to develop the sector to explore the new avenues of income for the state and to provide job opportunities to the people of the area.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is taking keen interest in development of tourism industry in Azad Kashmir and recently he ordered Civil Aviation Authority for reopening of airports at Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot. The air service between Pakistan’s main cities and AJK will help boost the tourism in the region.
