Mirpur: (Parliament Times)Â The Cleanliness Campaign launched by Municipal Corporation Mirpur has entered into 52nd day as employees of MCM and volunteers removed 3500 trucks of garbage from the streets and important roads of the city.
The Campaign was started on November 7 by Administrator of MCM, Chaudhry Ghulam Yaseen from Sector D-1.  During the campaign hundreds of tons waste has been removed from Lorry Adda, Kalyal, Khambal, Sector BYO, B-4, A-1, and F-2 and now Sector F-1 is being cleaned from the garbage.
The Secretary Local Government, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Raja and Secretary Local Government Board, Tahir Ayub also visited the city during the campaign and observed the cleanliness drive. They expressed their satisfaction over the pace of campaign and praised the efforts of the Administrator, officers and workers of the Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile Former Councilors, representatives of traders association, lawyers, media representatives and transporters highly appreciated the cleanliness drive and appealed that it should continue till the city becomes clean and tidy.
Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Ansar Yaqoob also chaired a meeting attended by officers Public Works Department, Highways and Mangla Dam Housing Authority and gave them directives to cooperate with MCM in its cleanliness drive. He said that all government departments would fully cooperate to keep the clean The Administrator Municipal Corporation expressed his resolve to continue the drive till desired results are achieved
