Islamabad:Â (Parliament Times) The Board of Directors of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project (NJHPP) approved Rs 735.11 million for six different development projects on the demand of AJK government. The approval was accorded in the meeting of the Board of Governors chaired by Chairman WAPDA, Let General Muzamal Hussain. At the outset of the meeting, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Sikandar Sultan Raja briefed the meeting and highlighting the significance of the projects. The meeting approved Rs 150.00 million for Watershed Management System, Rs 86.62 million for Komikot Water Supply Scheme, Rs 29.31 million for Chattar Kalass Water Supply Scheme, Rs 263.80 million for Solid Waste Treatment Plant in Muzaffarabad, Rs 65.00 million for Environmental Monitoring System in Muzaffarabad and Rs 140.38 million for construction of Recreational Park at Chattar Kallass. It is pertinent to mention that these projects were part of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project but were not implemented for reasons unknown. The present AJK government especially Chief Secretary Sikandar Sultan Raja played an important role in getting approval of these projects from the Board of Governors of the NJHPP.
