SHARJAH: Younis Khan and Sami Aslam brought Pakistan back on feet with fifties as Pakistan survived an early scare in the third and final Test against the West Indies on Sunday.

West Indies pacer Shannon Gabriel struck twice in the first over of the match to get Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq out for duck, reducing Pakistan to two down for a score of just 1. Shaken at first, Pakistan were guided to 107 without any further loss of wickets before Younis Khan was trapped caught by Chase at 51.

Earlier Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.

This is Misbah-ul-Haq’s 49th Test as captain, as he surpasses Imran Khan to become Pakistan’s most-capped captain in Tests. Among Asian captains, only MS Dhoni and Arjuna Ranatunga have led in more Tests than Misbah.

Fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir are back in the team in place of Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.

Pakistan have already won the series, after taking a 2-0 lead with their victories in Abu Dhabi and Dubai against the struggling West Indies team. Another victory in the Sharjah Test for Pakistan will result in a 9-0 sweep: Pakistan whitewashed West Indies by 3-0 in T20 series and 3-0 in ODI series.
