WASHINGTON: US have opposed to repay the Chinese loans by Pakistan out of IMF bail out package.
In a statement, US secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that there is no justification for repayment of Chinese loans from IMF package. “We want to work with new Pakistani government. We are keeping our eyes on all the matters of IMF.
He said IMF should refrain from giving bail out package to Pakistan.
On the other hand as per IMF spokesperson no request for acquisition of any loan has been received from Pakistan side. We are not holding any talks with Pakistan authorities on any prospective package.
However a foreign news paper has claimed Pakistan is considering to obtain 12 billion dollars loan from IMF.
