Mirpur: The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Friday declared illegal and set aside the process of examination of the Paper ‘B’ of English Precise Composition and Letter Writing conducted by Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission.
At the same time, the apex court has directed the PSC to reconduct the examination of the above mentioned cancelled Paper ‘B’ English Precise Composition and Letter Writing and finalize the result within one month period from the date of this judgment.
The full bench of the Supreme Court of AJK comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ibrahim Zia and Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan issued the above judgment disposing off the appeal in two identical cases titled “Abdul Basee Tajwer – vs – AJK Public Service Commission and othersâ€, under the provisions of section 42-A of the Interim Constitution of AJK – the Act. – 1974.
On direction of the learned apex court, the Advocate General had submitted in writing that the training course in the Academy has commenced and no new nominee can join the current training course.
In its brief order, the learned apex court declared “as the competitive examination has already been held after considerable delay of years and further delay is against the constitutional spirit and public interest, hence, the matter required expeditious disposalâ€.
“Thus, for doing complete justice and upholding the transparency of the competitive examination, the Public Service Commission is directed to take all necessary measures for holding the examination of Paper ‘B’ English Precise Composition and Letter Writing and finalize the result within one month time from the day of this judgmentâ€, the learned apex court order said.
