Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, APHC General Secretary and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah while appealing people to protest against the death sentence awarded by Kolkata court to a Kashmiri youth, Muzaffar Wani, has said that people of Kashmir will not allow their youth to fall prey to the Indian judicial tyranny.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who is under house arrest in Srinagar, in a statement also expressed the hope that world community would take cognizance of such terrorizing and vengeful acts on part of India against unarmed Kashmiri people.
Terming the verdict as politically motivated, Shabbir Ahmad Shah said, Indian judiciary at the behest of rulers is murdering justice. “Now, unfortunately, the local judiciary is following the suit as it has failed to provide justice to the victim,†he added.
The APHC leader said that Muzaffar Wani and his associates had not committed any crime that entitled them to death sentence. “The verdict is obviously politically motivated and makes it clear that authorities are hell bent upon snatching the lives of innocent Kashmiri youth,†he said.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah also condemned the unprovoked firing on civilians by Indian army in Samboora area of Pulwama and termed it unacceptable. “This is a naked aggression. It is extremely unfortunate that world community is acting as a mute spectator over the situation in Kashmir,†he said and expressed solidarity with the injured and saluted the courage and steadfastness of the people of the area.
Meanwhile, a DFP delegation led by Molvi Bashir Ahmad visited Sopore to express condolence with Bashir Ahmad Butt on the demise of his father-in-law, Ghulam Nabi Nadroo.
