Islamabad: Accountability court in Islamabad on Tuesday adjourned the court hearing into London flat reference filed by NAB till March 22 and reserved judgment in the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif miscellaneous application.
Earlier, joint investigation team (JIT) Head Wajid Zia submitted documents in the court of judge Muhamad Bashir Khan into London flat reference.
In the flagship reference, Wajid Zia submitted the documents related to offshore companies and replay of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the court.
As usual, the Sharif family along with their ministers and workers appeared in the court. The JIT head also submitted documents related to caliber font and the court made them part of the record.
However, the opponent party raised objection over the language of some letters. The Maryam Nawaz lawyer Amjad Pervez argued that some documents are in Arabic language. May be,Wajid Zia has understanding about the language , adding he may have degree in Arabic.
Raising objection over Britain MLA reply of the JIT team letter, the lawyer argued how they can judge the reply is for which letter?
He also raised the objection that some pages of the volume three are missing from the record, upon which the NAB prosecutor replied it was error at the end of binder and the said pages will be provided to the petitioner.
The Maryam Nawaz lawyer further asked the court how a reply without the relevant letter could be part of the record. Replying the objection, the prosecutor said all the letters are part of the volume 10.
It is pertinent to mention here that as hearing went under way on Tuesday, Wajid Zia submitted Iqama regarding Nawaz Sharif’s employment in Capital FZE, a UAE-based firm. The JIT head submitted several other documents, including Nawaz’s employment contract.
Zia submitted financial details of the flagship company as well. The accountability court later, adjourned the hearing till Wednesday.
