Islamabad:(Parliament Times) President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, in a statement issued here strongly condemned the incident that took place today against Mian Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister, at an event in Lahore.
Terming it as a malicious act of insult, hatred and intolerance, the President said that this trend must end immediately. He added that this is no way to display one’s personal, political or ideological differences.
President Masood Khan said that this act must be unanimously condemned by all political parties, leaders and their workers with the strongest words adding that political leaders must be treated with dignity and respect. If this trend continues, he said, no political leader will feel safe in addressing public gatherings. He further said that politics calls for a restraint, mutual respect and utmost tolerance.
The President also condemned the ink throwing incident on Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif at a political event in Sialkot the previous night.
