Islamabad:(Parliament Times) President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan has condemned the launch of a fresh wave of cordon and search operations, the suspension of mobile internet service and the closure of educational institutions in Kupwara and Baramulla districts of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The President made these remarks during a meeting with Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Prime Minister AJK, who called on the President here at Jammu and Kashmir House.
During the meeting, the latest human rights situation in IOK was discussed in detail. The President said that the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir have rejected the Panchayat election drama enacted by India and through this step, they have reiterated that they will accept nothing short of their right to exercise their right to self-determination through a free and fair plebiscite under UN supervision.
Both leaders said that efforts will be intensified towards effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue at all international forums. They said that gross human rights violations were taking place in Indian Occupied Kashmir at the behest of the Indian government and the international community must take notice of the worsening situation in IOK.
Both the President and the Prime Minister commended the Joint Resistant Leadership and the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir for their resolute and committed stance in the face of Indian aggression.
Prime Minister AJK apprised the President on matters related to the 13th Amendment in the AJK Interim Act 1974. He said that the AJK Government is in close coordination with the Pakistan Government and all issues related to the amendment will be finalised soon.
The President and Prime Minister also discussed the ongoing development projects in AJK and agreed to accelerate efforts for developing infrastructure, promoting health and educational facilities, increasing hydropower production, development of road networks, enhancing tourism, promoting agriculture, and enhancing industrial activities in the state.
