Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said a new era of development will usher in after inclusion of Azad Kashmir into China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project.
Talking to members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi and Pervaiz Akhtar Awan, he said that recent directives of Prime Minister Main Muhammad Nawaz Shareef about the development of Azad Kashmir reflect his keen interest in the development and progress of the state. The Federal Minister said that allocation of billion of rupees by the Federal Government for different development projects would provide a foundation for sustainable development in the liberated area. Chaudhry Barjees Tahir further said that under CPEC roads and industrials zones would be constructed in Azad Kashmir which would accelerate the economic activities in the state. He added that Muzaffarabad, Mipur, Mangla Highways and Mansehra to Bhimbar road would play an important role in this respect. After the completion of these highways, AJK would be connected with the CPEC route and that would also significantly help develop the tourism industry in AJK.
Earlier in a statement, Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir has said Pakistan has witnessed significant improvements in law and order, energy and economy due to Vigorous efforts by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said country was facing plethora of challenges in 2013 when PML-N came into power but the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the problems. He said government’s writ has been established in the length and breadth of the country and now there is no “No Go Area” in the country.
The Minister said energy was one of the biggest challenges for the government but by the grace of Almighty Allah now government is close to overcome the crisis. He said around ten thousands MW power would be added to national grid by the end of this year. He said similarly load shedding of natural gas decreased significantly, economy is heading towards complete turn around and agriculture sector of the country is on the path of development.
Citing the recent reports of international rating agencies, the minister said it is matter of great satisfaction that there is marked improvement in economic condition and country is quite safe for foreign investment
