London: (Parliament Times) Voicing its serious concern over the bloodbath and mayhem in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir Voice International (KVI) has said that India was determined in continuing its policy of repression and unabated killings in the region.
“This shows India is out to take revenge on Kashmiris for their demanding the right to freedom. It seems that there is a hidden agenda of annihilating the Kashmir population which is clear by the pursuit of everyday killings”, the KVI statement said adding that on the one hand a drama of engaging common Kashmiris through an interlocutor was being played which should have been accompanied by taking steps for easing and relaxing the situation for solution instead the options for using political means were closed and massage of treating Kashmiris as enemies was delivered.
“A policy is being pursued as if Kashmir is to be conquered”, the statement added. The KVI maintained that it was highly shocking that the right thinking Indians do not stand up and ask government to engage Kashmiris for a political solution. Kashmir is not to be conquered but need to be understood.
“The experience of nearly three decades now, shows that massacres and unabated killings have failed to restore peace in Kashmir”, the statement said adding that peace can return only when the real problem was addressed. Calling for an end to all the atrocities the KVI said that India must create conducive atmosphere where stake holders can be engaged to explore a final and durable political solution, which was acceptable to Kashmiris.
The KVI secretary general Javed Kakroo said that it was high time that the stakeholder involved in the dispute must sit on the table to find out peaceful settlement of Kashmir thereby bringing an end to any kind of violence in the region.
