Brussels: Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) has expressed its complete solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).
The solidarity was pledged in the joint meeting of board and core committee of the council headed by its Chairman Mr Ali Raza Syed in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium Tuesday. The meeting, which was held in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, finalized the solidarity day’s program in the capital of Belgium.
According to the programme, the candle light vigil will be organised at 5 p.m on 4th February in Brussels in order to expressed solidarity with Kashmiris and as well for creating attention towards human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Kashmir.
Participants of the meeting extended their empathy with families of the Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives for right of self-determination specially the people who lost their lives during new waves of state terrorism recently.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed condemned the killing of two student of Shopian area of occupied Kashmir. The youth identified as Suhail Javid Lone and Javid Ahmad Bhat were killed by Indian military forces when the army opened fire indiscriminately on civilians in the town on Saturday. He also criticized the international community for continued silence over the massacre of the Kashmiris in IHK.
The meeting reviewed the upcoming programs to be organized during the whole year of 2018 by the council. The programs including martyrdom anniversary of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Goru on 10th February and annual conference on Kashmiri women on 8th March in Brussels specifically came under discussion in the meeting. Kashmir Council EU asked the Indian government to return remains of two great martyrs of Kashmir for their proper burial by their relatives in territory of Kashmir.
Participants of the meeting reviewed the future strategy of the council for further highlighting rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir and prevent wrong impression Indian so-called democracy in Europe.
Kashmir Council EU also appealed to the international community to execute quick efforts towards prevention of Indian state brutalism against the people of Kashmir and resolving the Kashmir dispute peacefully. It was asked from the civilized world to raise their voices against atrocities in IHK.
Kashmir Council called the International Community to protect human rights of the people in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), the press release issued after the meeting said. The Council called on the UN Human Rights Council, EU institutions, and other world bodies, particularly international human rights organizations, to pay serious attention to the large scale crimes against humanity in Kashmir. “They must pressurize India to stop the violence in IHK.”
