Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while paying glowing tributes to the four youth, recently martyred by Indian troops at Sumbal in Bandipora district has said that loss of human lives will continue to take place unless the Kashmir dispute is resolved as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The rigid and stubborn approach adopted by New Delhi vis-à -vis Kashmir issue is the main reason of tension in the region.â€
He said, “The struggle of the people of Kashmir has strong moral, historical, political, legal and ethical foundations based on truthful facts. India is making all-out efforts to muzzle the genuine struggle through military might.â€
Crushing the people’s sentiments through military power has become the official policy of New Delhi and its local collaborators in Kashmir, the spokesman said. He however added that history was witness to the fact that no genuine struggle had been defeated through military might and those trying to do it in Kashmir were destined to taste the defeat.
The spokesman strongly condemned the massive crackdown by Indian forces in Pulwama district during night and said that people of Kashmir were being deliberately targeted on one pretext or the other. He said that Indian forces were creating hardships for people on routine basis and nocturnal raids had become a routine in Kashmir.
He said that all these acts were done to muzzle the genuine political struggle and to push the resistance leadership to the wall, but the leadership and the people were committed to the Kashmir cause.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Muhammad Shafi Reshi, in a statement said that India was using all brutal tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ just freedom struggle.
A protest rally was held in Muzaffarabad against the killing of four youth by Indian troops in Sumbal. The protest rally was organized by the AJK-chapter of Jammu and Kashmir International Forum for Justice and Human Rights.
