“inaugurates Muzaffarabad-Brar Kot road”
Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that federal government has taken decision to pay Rs. 1.10 Net Hydel Profit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir government which will be implemented soon.
Speaking to the newly elected office bearers of the Central Press Club Muzaffarabad here on Thursday the Prime Minister said that AJ&K government was not part of National Finance Award (NFC) but government would attend the meeting of NFC as observer. The Prime Minister invited the proposals for the establishment of good governance, restoration of merit and development of the region from the journalists.
He said that Prime Minister of Pakistan has constituted a high level committee on the Issue and we want that people of Gilgit Baltistan should enjoy more political powers. On the issue of local polls in AJ&K the Prime Minister said that all is set for holding Local Polls in AJ&K but we are waiting for results of the fresh census.
Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) government of AJK would give a new shape to AJK by connecting the region to rest of country through latest means of communication for the promotion of tourism in the region. He said, “Gilgit Baltastan is part and parcel of Kashmir in accordance with the United Nations resolutions”.
He said that due rights of the people were ignored by the vested interest politicians who have been at the helm of affairs during last ten years. He said the role of journalist community was of vital importance for promoting harmony and tolerance in the society. He said the war against terrorism was multidimensional. He said besides constructive criticism, media should encourage good work of the institutions. Earlier the Prime Minister Farooq Haider Khan was accorded warm welcome by the journalists upon his arrival at Press Club. Prime Minister was also accompanied by the Minister for Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani during his visit to the Press Club.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan inaugurated newly constructed 10 kilometres long Muzaffarabad-Brar Kot road. Rs.380 million project was completed in record short time of 18 months. Minister for Works Choudhry Muhammad Aziz, minister for Education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani and secretary Works Tariq Mehmood were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion the prime minister, praised the Works department for early completion of the road without compromising on the quality of the work.
