Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has set up the teams to monitor the election campaigns of political parties and candidates at district level in general elections 2018.
These teams will decide the complaints against any political party and candidate for violating rules and electoral code of conduct.
As per notification issued notice by EC, these monitoring teams will also monitor the constituencies of provincial assemblies along with concerned/related constituencies of National Assembly (NA).
According to the notification, these teams have been established under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of every district and every monitoring team comprising officers and heads of different department of grade 17 to 19 will work for every provincial constituency
297 teams for 36 districts of Punjab, 51 for 31 districts of Baluchistan, 130 teams for 29 districts of Sindh and 99 teams for 27 districts of KPK have been established for this purpose.
3 teams under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad have been setup for 3 constituencies of NA in Islamabad while 11 monitoring teams for 11 constituencies in the supervision of concerned political agent/ District Returning Officer (DRO) and separate teams for 7 Frontier Region (FR) including FR Peshawar, FR Kohat, FR Banu, FR Tonic and FR Dera Ismail Khan have been established to monitor the election campaign of political parties and candidates in the supervision of DC Banu.
