ISLAMABAD: Director General National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Zulfiqar Ali has rejected all allegations regarding data leaks as baseless.
He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon in response to the Election Commission’s letter to NADRA expressing concern over alleged release of details regarding electoral rolls.
The DG NADRA said the allegation of sharing data of voters to irrelevant persons is totally unfounded.
He said an internal e-mail of a year ago has been cited for leveling allegation, which has nothing to do with data leaks.
Zulfiqar Ali said the Supreme Court appreciated NADRA for its input in dual nationality case, and the allegation of misleading the court in this regard is completely baseless.
He said NARA is an independent body whose audit is conducted regularly by Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue every year.
