Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a massive campaign to evaluate the exact figure of animals in the province is in progress and forty per cent work of animals’ censuses has so far been completed in Rawalpindi Division.
This was revealed by Director Local Government & Dairy Development Dr. Ghulam Hussain Bhutta during a review meeting held to analyze the work of census being conducted in all four districts of division including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal.
Dr. Ghulam Hussain Bhutta informed that all types of animals including cows, buffalos, horses, mules, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, fancy birds/parrots, etc. were being registered so that their exact figures could be ascertained. He further informed that this exercise was being conducted to evaluate the existing treatment facilities for animals. On this occasion, Dr. Bhutta asked field staff to accomplish this task speedily and try their best to complete the work within stipulated period. He said that mobile dispensary units were paying visits at union council level for vaccination of animals. Teams comprising senior officers and field officers had already been constituted in this connection, he added.
