Abbaspur:Â Like other parts of AJK, black day against Indian occupation of Kashmir was also observed in Abbaspur. There was complete shutter down in the town while black flags were hoisted on all government, semi government and private residences in the town
A protest demonstration participated by thousands of people from all walks of life including political, lawyers and students was taken out from the center of the town. The participants of the protest raised slogans like ‘want freedom, India quit Kashmir. The protest demonstration led by resident Abbaspur traders association Sheikh Nazir Ahmed former minister Sardar Muhammad Asghar Afhandi assistant commissioner Raja Nisar Ahmed, Sardar Muhammad Hayat and others turned into big public meeting at Milad Chowk after taking rounds of the bazaar. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers termed October 27 as darkest day in the history of Kashmir when Indian forces landed on Sirinagar airport and occupied the state of Jammu and Kashmir. They said that misfortune started on this day has been continued for last 68 years. They highly condemned the barbarities and atrocities of Indian forces against innocent people of Kashmir and appealed to the international community to take serious notice of the situation force India to quit it’s military occupation. They also demanded fair and free referendum under UN supervision to determine the fate of fifteen million people of Kashmir.
