ISLAMABAD: FIA has summoned former president Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur today to record their statements in JIT in connection with money laundering case.
FIA has issued notice to Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur to appear before JIT to record their statements. As per notice both have been summoned in FIA headquarters Islamabad on August 04.
It may be mentioned that FIA is investigating against 32 persons for their alleged involvement in laundering money from benami accounts. Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur are among these 32 persons. Hussain Lawai, president of a private bank was also arrested in this connection some days back.
On July 30 Faryal Talpur had challenged in the court the interim challan issued by FIA in money laundering case.
Faryal Talpur said in the petition that no mention has been made about any money laundering in FIR. My role is not clear in challan and I have nothing to do with the charges.
