Muzaffarabad:Â (Parliament Times) AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said Islam was spread in this region by Muslim Saints who dedicated their lives to the cause of peace and humanity. He said Islam is religion of peace, tolerance, kindness and compassion and there is no room for terrorism and extremism in the true religion brought to us by prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
He expressed these views while addressing the dovotees gathered at the shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Sain Sohaili Sarkar’s annual urs. Secretary Auqaf Syed Nazirul Hussan Gillani, former advisor to President Raja Sajid, Sahib Salim Chishti and thousands of dovotees were present on the occasion.
Terming Kashmir as land of the saints, the Prime Minister said that they had played unprecedented role in preaching golden principles of Islam in the region and dedicated their life for spreading Islamic values like peace brotherhood and fraternity in the society. Hazrat Sain Saheli Sarkar was one of them who had brightened the hearts of his followers with the teachings of Islam.
Saying that Islam lays great emphasis on rights and duties of the citizen, Prime Minister said rights and duties are closely related and cannot be separated from one another. He directed the Auqaf Department to provide all possible facilities to the visitors of Sain Soheli Sarkar shrine. He said it should be priority of Shrine Management to provide facilities to the people visiting the shrine from far off places.
The Prime Minister also directed for provision of proper food, hygienic conditions and fool proof security to the visitors of the shrine on priority basis. He also paid tributes to the Sufi Saints like Shah Hamadan who had brought with him large number of skilled artisans who transferered the skills to local population and turned Kashmir remains a center of knowledge, arts and craft for centuries with peace and sense of mutual coexistence among the people of different faiths and religions. This all was happened because of the teachings of sufi saints who changed the minds of people.
Meanwhile large number of people from different parts of Azad Kashmir called on Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and apprised him of the problems of their respective areas. Those who met Prime Minister were included Raja Faisal Azad President PML-N Poonch District, a delegation from Chinari led by Mirza asif Mughal, a delegation from Khawara led by Chaudhry Shafqat Advocate, a delegation from Charoi led by Raja Zaheer and delegation from Chakar led by Raja Toseef Khan.
