Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Shah Gulam Qadir has said that government is taking concrete measures for the welfare of media in the State.
Talking to delegation of Hattin Bala Press Club in Muzaffarabad today, he said it is sole responsibility of the State media to highlight Kashmir issue at national and international levels.
Speaker said AJK government has made a comprehensive strategy to flourish media on modern lines. He said early liberation of occupied Kashmir form India, good governance, rule of law and progress of Azad Kashmir are among the top priorities of the present government. He called upon the international community to initiate an independent investigation in the ongoing gross human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and fulfill its obligations under UN Security Council resolutions.
The speaker said that the government and the people of Pakistan reaffirm their continued and resolute moral, diplomatic and political support to the oppressed people of Occupied Kashmir in their valiant struggle for fundamental right to self-determination. He said that Pakistan strongly condemns the systemic state terrorism and brutal killings of the innocent people of Kashmir by Indian occupation forces.
He said the dream of peace and prosperity of the people of this region will remain elusive without resolving this dispute. He urged India to stop bloodbath in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and allow a free and fair plebiscite under the UN auspices.
