Islamabad: An Accountability Court (AC) in Islamabad has ordered for the auction of assets owned by former Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar.
AC Judge Muhammad Bashir Tuesday announced the reserved verdict on National Accountability Bureau’s petition.
As per the verdict the provincial government has the authority to either auction the assets of absconder or keep it under its custody.
The court remarked action will be taken as per law in respect of properties located outside Pakistan.
The AC sought the compliance report pertaining to taking into possession of vehicles and three plots of the accused located at Al Falah Society.
Special Prosecutor to NAB Imran Shafiq presented before the court details of seized properties of the PML-N leader.
In its petition NAB had taken the stance that the accused can file a suit within 6 month of seizure of his property. However no objection has been raised by the accused so far.
Prosecutor NAB requested the court to order auction of properties owned by the accused and he had also said that the amount acquired from the auction would be deposited in the public exchequer.
According to the details presented before court, trusts owned by Ishaq Dar and his wife have bank account in various private banks in Lahore and Islamabad.
Moreover, the accused owns a house and 4 plots at Gulberg Lahore, while 4 more plots in Islamabad.
It said Ishaq Dar and his wife own 3 Land Cruisers,2 Mercedes and one Toyota Corolla vehicle in Pakistan. Beside this the duo has invested Rs 3.4 million in Hejvari Holding Company.
The accused also owns 3 flats and a Mercedes vehicle in Dubai whereas he holds share in 3 foreign companies.
