Islamabad: (Parliament Times) 10th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Open Golf Championship started at Margalla Greens Golf Club Islamabad today. Rear Admiral Shoaib Khattak, Director General Joint Warfare & Training, Joint Staff Headquarters, inaugurated the Championship. Eminent professionals and prominent amateur golfers from all over Pakistan are playing for Rs 04 million prize money besides a brand new SUV for the lucky golfer who scores hole in one. The professionals and amateurs would play over 54 holes in three days in this mega event with 18 holes played each day.
On the first day senior professionals, senior amateurs, junior amateurs, junior professionals and lady amateurs played over 18 holes on a pleasant sunny day. Results are as under:-
Muhammad Akram from Gymkhana Club with a gross of 64 is on the lead after first day’s game in Senior Professionals category. In Junior Professionals category, Muneeb Ahmed from PAF Golf Club is at the lead with a gross of 72. In Senior Amateur category Mr Nadeem Asif from Margalla Greens Golf Club stood first with net of 68, whereas in Junior Amateur category Master Irtiza from Margalla Greens Golf Club won the title with a net of 61.
