Islamabad: Former Interior Minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal has said that only opening of governor houses for people and auctioning Prime Minister house’s vehicles are not enough to run the state .
Nobody can make dams with donations. Our government had released R.S122 billion for Diamer Basaha dam and got land for the purpose also, he said.
“The reports are making rounds that incumbent government is planning to cut-short development budget. Development portfolio has been jammed for 6 months. How a country can progress where the development process is stalled for six months,” he said while criticizing the policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government in his media talk outside Islamabad High Court.
We did not see any solid progress in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project from the government, which is very beneficial for the country, he added.
We are thankful to Chief Justice Saqib Nisar for his efforts to build a dam; we also worked for it during our tenure, Iqbal said.
He said the government is compounding the peoples’ problems by dumping subsidies. We will fully defend the facilities we provide to the people.
