Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court of Karachi has handed down death sentence to two accused identified as Rashid alias Tailor and Zahid Abbas in murder case of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Zahra Shahid in 2013.
According to media reports, both convicts, workers of MQM-London during interrogation confessed of murdering Zahra Shahid while eyewitnesses in the case had also identified them.
On the other hand, court set free two other suspects named as Irfan and Kaleem in the case after finding no evidence against them.
According to Rangers Prosecutor, both convicts were associated with MQM-London.
It is vital to mention here that Zahra Shahid, a senior PTI leader was gunned down outside her residency in Karachi Defence area in 2013.
Police had arrested four suspects, involved in the incident.
Government, however, announced Rs 25, 00,000 as award money on identification of suspects involved in the murder of Shahid.
