Rawalpindi: More than 400 educators (male & female) who were recruited in Rawalpindi district stand deprived of salaries for 5 months due to slackness of District Educators Authority.
As per media reports, these educators are performing their duties since last 5 months without getting paid. Their household problems have been badly affected owing to non payment of salaries to them since 5 months. The chances of getting salaries on Eid-ul-Azha have become rare. .
. These educators who were appointed in March 2018 include senior school educators of Grade 16, senior elementary school educators of Grade 15 and elementary school educators of Grade 14. The salaries of educators have not been disbursed to them till now because of the delay in the clearance of educators (male & female) and due to late sending of lists to district accounts office.
The computer account forms of 50% educators were not sent to account office due to which the salaries couldn’t be paid to the educators before Eid-ul-Azha.
Non payment of salaries to them have compounded financial woes of these educators . On which the leaders of Punjab Education Association Rawalpindi Raja Basharat Iqbal, Ahyal Gul Tahir, Arshad Abbasi, Malik Zahid Khan and Kousar Shujaat have appealed to CEO Education department and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi that in the prevailing time of price hike, it is next to impossible for the low paid employees to run their financial matters without being paid salaries therefore, payment of salaries be ensured before Eid ul Azha..
They called for strict action against the officials responsible for delaying the payment of salary.
