Lahore: Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday summoned complete record of the salary structure of the officers heading public firms in all four provinces.
A full bench, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, summoned the record during a hearing of a suo moto case pertaining to alleged corruption and irregularities in public firms. The top court bench asked the chief executive officers of public firms to appear in the court.
The chief justice, during the hearing, remarked the money that extracted through corrupt means by these firms bosses will be donated to Chief Justice Fund for the construction of dams. This is public money and will be spent on public welfare projects, the chief justice remarked.
A three-member full bench, headed by chief justice, heard the case on Saturday. Punjab chief secretary, during the hearing, informed the court that a list of 346 officers working in different public sector departments has been given to the National Accountability Bureau.
He informed the court that the NAB had sought some additional information.
Chief Justice asked why information of three other provinces’ officers are missing from the report. The court later also sought information regarding officers’ salaries in other provinces.
The chief justice remarked all CEO appear in the court today and if want to say something they can by tomorrow.
The chief justice said public money will not be allowed to distribute among officers. He further remarked people are not getting health facilities and officers are living luxury lives on their money.
