Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Aimed at carrying out joint efforts for policy-oriented research, dialogue and publishing projects, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi and Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad here on Tuesday.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at FJWU and both the institutions were represented by its respective heads: Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir, vice chancellor, FJWU and Khalid Rahman, executive president/director general, IPS. A number of officials and faculty members of both the institutions were also present on the occasion.
Apart from exploring opportunities of cooperation in aforementioned domains, the MoU also delineated sharing of intellectual resources, co-organizing of workshops, seminars, conferences and capacity building activities, collaboration in offering joint certificate/elective courses, diplomas and degree programs in policy studies, cooperation in conducting joint researches and supervision of dissertations, sharing of publications to promote policy-oriented work, and provision of internship opportunities to students of FJWU in social sciences and disciplines relevant to policy studies, as some of the mutual interest areas between the two institutions.
