ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has disposed of the illegal marriage halls case.
The court has ordered all marriage halls to pay regularization charges and obtain certificate from Capital Development Authority (CDA).
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up the case of illegal marriage halls for hearing Tuesday.
The CJP remarked during the course of the hearing of the case ì No one can be given unrestrained freedom. Constructions contrary to law can not be allowed. CDA has taken no action against illegal marriage halls.
The court also issued directives for keeping in view the element of environment.
