ISLAMABAD: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmed has said that oil and gas companies are responsible for carrying out welfare projects in the areas of exploration.
Responding to a calling attention notice in the National Assembly today, he said companies have their own policies regarding provision of jobs to the local people. He said the companies recruit local people in non-technical fields.
Responding to another calling attention notice, Minister for Information and Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan said that efforts have been made to bring reforms in Telephone Industries of Pakistan [TIP].
She said that TIP was not privatized with the privatization of PTCL.
