Rawalpindi: Regional Transport Authority Rawalpindi (RTA) has decided a crackdown against the drivers and owners of auto-Rickshaws for non-completion of documents.
This crackdown will begin from Monday and for this purpose, special squads have been set-up by RTA.
RTA has established 27 different routes in Rwp city including Potohar town, Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kalar Sayidan and Kahuta for rickshaws.
Only 22 auto-Rickshaws among 3500 were registered and the drivers of these auto-Rickshaws got route permit while all other auto-Rickshaws are still running illegally.
Secretary Regional Transport Authority Khalid Yasmeen Satti said that the drivers were given time to register and to obtain route permit but even after this only a few drivers have got the m registered and have obtained route permits. .
The staff of RTA will start the crackdown in the city from Monday.
The auto-Rickshaws running illegally will be banned. They will be freed unless route permit.
