Kasur: An officer of the Motorway Police saved life of a woman who had jumped into a river to commit suicide.
According to police, the woman, aged 22, resident of Phol Nagar, an area of Kasur, was said to be frustrated after having being divorced, adding that she had jumped into Jambar Canal near Phoolnagar’s Link Road as she was said to be frustrated over her divorce.
The patrolling officer identified as Zahid Maqsood jumped into the water and saved the young woman’s life.
Zahid Maqsood was commended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Motorway Police Mirza Faran Baig for acting immediately.
The woman was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, and is out of danger now.
