Quetta: (Parliament Times) Amid strict and tight security arrangements, in a fresh wave of terror, at least six people including four security personnel died and sixteen among nine security personnel were injured when suicide attacker Tuesday exploded him near Balochistan Provincial some 300 yards away, here at Zarghoon road.
The incident blast took place in parking near GPO chowk when a vehicle carrying FC constabulary was passing at the moment. The buildings near-by the blast site also jolted while windowpane of these building also smashed, according to media reports. Sources said security personnel were on their way back upon completion of routine duty when the explosion took place. The blast also damaged a public bus nearby.
The rescue teams and security forces have reached the the blast scene, while security forces have cordoned off the area. The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital and Balochistan Medical Complex (BMC), while emergency has been declared in these medical facilities. Security officials said a bomb disposal team was also present at the location conducting necessary search and sweep exercise and examining the nature of blast.
The suicide attacker laden with 10-12 kg explosive matter targeted the truck of FC constabulary. Soon after the incident, rescue teams and security forces reached on the spot.
The window panes of nearby building and vehicle stationary around the blast scene have been damaged. The heavy contingency of security forces has cordoned off the areas.
Strict security arrangements were in place in the area as the provincial lawmakers were expected to submit a no-confidence motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri. Later, the provincial assembly session was adjourned after Sanaullah Zehri decided to step down on the advice of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
