Rawalpindi : A Chinese engineer, working on a tunnel linked to a river for the Karot power project in Kahuta went missing on Wednesday.
According to media reports, security agencies, Police, and special protection unit (SPU) personnel have launched a search operation in and around the camp where the workers live to find 36 year old Pingzhi Liu.
Security Agencies were of the view that Liu is likely to have been swept away by the river however, the police did not deny a possibility of kidnapping as Lui’ cell phone was switched off.
In line with police, the associates of the missing engineer had seen him talking on the phone around 3.00 at night in the tunnel linked to a river.
At least five divers were working on the sight in tunnel, revealed in the initial report.
The police investigated divers about the Chinese engineer but they five had no clue.
It is pertinent to mention here that The Chinese engineer had come to Islamabad last year to work on the power project, the police added.
