London: Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) in collaboration with the Pakistani High Commission in London organized a Kashmir Conference in the British Parliament.
The conference chaired by Barrister Imran Hussain, MP and Vice Chairman of All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir in the British Parliament, was attended by more than 20 parliamentarians of both Houses and all parties. Special Guests were Executive Director Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam and Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner, Zahid Hafeez.
The JKSDMI Chairman, Raja Najabat Hussain, welcomed the parliamentarians and community leaders from different walks of life. He briefed the participants about the Founding Day of Azad Kashmir Government (24th October) and the Kashmir Black Day (27th October). India had invaded Jammu and Kashmir on October 27 in 1947 and illegally occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan of Subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Raja Najabat Hussain asked the British government to raise the Kashmir dispute at the UN Security Council and other international forums to represent the one million British Kashmiri Community.
Chris Leslie praised the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International team led by Raja Najabat Hussain and promised to work closely with them.
The Parliamentarians who attended the conference included Lord Nazir Ahmad, Lord Qurban Hussain, Lord Timothy Kirkhope, Shadow Treasury Secretary Rebbeca Long-Bailey, Shadow Foreign Office Minister Liz McInnes, Shadow Justice Minister London.
